Abstract Context Amazonian white-sand ecosystems ( campinas ) are open vegetation patches which form a natural island-like system in matrix of tropical rainforest. Due to clear distinction from the surrounding matrix, spatial characteristics campina may affect genetic diversity and composition their specialized organisms, such as small endemic passerine Elaenia ruficeps . Objectives To estimate relative contribution current extension, configuration geographical context patterns population structure E. Methods We sampled individuals three landscapes central Amazonia with contrasting distribution, large connected isolated patches. estimated structure, diversity, contemporary historical migration within among used landscape metrics predictor variables.
